Sydney’s North Shore suburbs, McMahons Point and Longueville, bagged Number 9 and 10 respectively in Australia’s Top 10 Most Expensive Suburbs in 2015.
The list is created by aggregating all property sales in the suburbs and finding the median price of all.
McMahons Point median price came in at $3,051,000 and Longueville at $2,960,000. Most of the suburbs on the Top 10 list are located on or very close to the harbour.
Elliot Placks from Ray White Double Bay said, the size, quality and lifestyle that can be offered to an individual if they’ve got the capacity is astounding.”
Mr Placks said Chinese buyers have been a strong driving force in the top end of Sydney’s market.
A list of the most expensive properties sold in 2015 was also released and the North Shore suburb, Cammeray came in at Number 7 with a price of $13 – 15 million.
The Cowdroy Avenue property is the former home of Joanne Mineham, the widow of PricewaterhouseCoopers deputy CEO Leigh Mineham.
Buying a home in these suburbs is a serious investment decision and should not be taken lightly. Before you buy make sure you know what condition the home is in with a detailed building and pest inspection.
