About Our Inspection Services:

If you are about to purchase a property, it's imperative that you get a professional building inspection before making your decision. Your inspector will provide a detailed report that comments on any structural damage, conditions conducive to structural damage, as well as any building defects. The purpose of the inspection is to warn you of any significant damage or problems with the property.

Often combined with a building inspection, your inspector will check the property for termites and pests, and in particular look for termite damage or conditions that are conducive to termite damage, with recommendations for treatment if necessary. Termites avoid being out in the open and so their colonies are usually underground, out of sight or within wood materials making termite damage difficult to find. For this reason it’s important to get a professional inspector who knows what to look out for.

Our pre-purchase inspections allow purchasers to make an informed decision about a property, to either proceed with the purchase, renegotiate, or to not proceed. It is highly recommended to make it a condition of your contract that you are satisfied with the outcomes of both the building and pest inspection reports.

A handover report is the crucial final step in the home building process so that buyers can be certain that the work carried out on their new home has been completed in a way that will meet industry standards, commenting on any building defects, imperfections, omissions or poor workmanship.

The purpose of this report is to have a signed document recording the current state of a building and/or surrounding buildings prior to construction, excavation or demolition works begin. The Dilapidation Report identifies any visible cracks or movement within the property and its surrounds including the driveway, paths, and fences.

The presence of asbestos in older buildings is still widespread and as such, asbestos testing is important for buildings built between the 1940s and mid 1980s. Our professional inspectors will take samples from the property for testing and if asbestos is found, a management plan will be provided.

Inspect My Home provide a full range of pest control services for residential and commercial properties in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

If a pest inspection has found termites or evidence of termite damage, a termite management plan is crucial to protecting the property. There are two primary termite control options available, namely chemical termite barriers and in-ground baiting systems.
