It was also the last stop for on the first railway line in New South Wales and was known then as Parramatta Junction.<\/p>\n<p>To bring the suburb back to its former glory and pay tribute to its significance to Sydney, the Parramatta Council have unveiled plans for a $1 million facelift to Russell Street. There are many properties along this stretch that have kept their Victorian features and the plans are to inject more period features to complement them.<\/p>\n<p>Inara Molinari founded the Granville Residents Action Network said, \u201cIt&#8217;s exciting when the council pours some much-needed money into this area.\u201d She hopes that new businesses and visitors will be attracted to the area for its sandstone footpaths, iron light poles and Victorian\/Federation street furniture.<\/p>\n<p>You can take a look at the plans at the Granville Library and the historic Granville Town Hall until November 20.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read-more\">There are many beautiful older properties in the Granville area.
