{"id":665,"date":"2015-12-09T15:34:02","date_gmt":"2015-12-09T05:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.inspectmyhome.com.au\/blog\/?p=665"},"modified":"2018-04-24T11:13:22","modified_gmt":"2018-04-24T01:13:22","slug":"leichhardt-busiest-suburb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.inspectmyhome.com.au\/blog\/leichhardt-busiest-suburb\/","title":{"rendered":"Leichhardt: The Busiest Suburb In The Inner West"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>2015 was a fantastic year for Leichhardt and with 350 properties being sold it was recorded as the busiest suburb in Sydney\u2019s Inner West.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more-->This high turnover rate brought about a 21.2 per cent rise in the median house price rising to $1,225,500 with unit prices rising 20 per cent to $825,000.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Nunn of BresicWhitney said, \u201cThere\u2019s still a really strong trend of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst buyers who previously were more avid inner east fans who are flocking to Leichhardt where it\u2019s much better value for your money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The market is slowing down and due to an overstock of property coming on to the market in Leichhardt, many buyers are being able to negotiate great prices. Realtors that you can still see some surprising results as a derelict Victorian cottage recently went for $225,000 over the reserve during a battle of 16 bidders.<\/p>\n<p>Ercan Ersan of Ray White Surry Hills said that the final weeks of the year are a great time to buy and said, \u201c\u201cI\u2019m finding there\u2019s a lot of people rushing to get in before the end of the year so they don\u2019t have to start again next year,\u201d Ersan says. \u201cThe reality is if they don\u2019t buy now, they probably won\u2019t buy something until the end of February.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Before you
